All you ladies that are writing nonsense epistles to justify and promote nudity, saying 'nudity is our African culture', because you want to walk about naked,
you should have asked yourself first, what is culture?
I'm not against anyone who wants to go nude. It's your body. My opinion is it is distasteful and not safe. When you all in defence of nudity say it is our culture, I only see the ignorance laced in that statement. Do you know what culture is?
Culture isn't one aspect of a group of people. It's the ideas, customs, belief, intellectual achievement regarded 'collectively'.
So when you pick out nudity from a Culture to justify people or women going naked today, your statement is incomplete.
There is a reason why certain group of people go naked. Why we went naked in the past. It was based on the belief of the people back then in their time. What governed them, the ideas behind it. Their strengths as a people 'together' not individually.
Back then nudity, serving a small god, several barbaric acts all made the culture of those people. It wasn't even seen as nakedness because of the ideas, they had. Even those still walking around naked today, have what governs them. What keeps them safe.
A man in such primitive society cannot be turned on by his neighbours wife, or lil 3 year old daughter running around naked. Their values went beyond the Physical body back then. They had fears that rooted deep in their souls and that made them live harmoniously in the common space they all shared, which is their community. That fear we have in our society today long removed.
It was important for a girl to remain a virgin till a certain age. It was important for them to circumcize their women, it was important for them to do as their god pleases. So a 13 year old child can run around naked without fear of being violated by anyone, the fear of their family god's was in them. The same for stealing and other crimes. They needed no police to secure them.
In this day and age when the fear of the one God we all have come together to serve is not in us, you want to pick just nudity from the past and promote?
The reason why those group of people survived without the dangerous issues we have now, is because their life was In synergy. Just like if you take several oranges, you'll have not only vitamin c, but several other vitamins. And if you take excess of oranges, you'd probably have a loose bowel and that's all.
Try popping only extracted vitamin c to the same quantity of orange and see what happens.
That's the white man's mentality. Take just one thing out of a culture or something that is synergistically balanced and promote it. What do you have, chaos. Rape, body shaming, several dreadful domestic abuses. It only brings forth many other issues so bad people can exploit it.
A fully clothed 10 years old would be molested, why because she is born in a time where the entire belief of the opposite sex has shifted from what it used to be. Then imagine those that are dressed revealingly? We cannot be fighting for individuality and then propose to promote something that would also affect us as a group of people. It's counter productive.
If we want to go nude, everything else has to change to conform with that idea 'collectively'. If not, victims will keep piling up. We can only pick one thing, do we want to be an individualistic society, where everyone does as they please? Fine then what's gonna keep us safe collectively since we are all sharing the same space? Cover your body and lock your doors. Else, anything that happens to you, lives with you.
The right you say you have to walk around with your business all out on display, is the same right a man has to follow the chemical reaction running in his head seeing all your goodies outside. If he jumps at it, sorry. He only went for what he wants. Generally our common space law has said he will be found guilty, but can you forget that he jumped at you? No. He gets canned and you live with the memories forever. Damage lingers.
The laws saying cover your body is to protect you in the common space that we all share. We have the police, but they will tell you to lock your doors. Make it difficult for those exceptions in the society to harm you.
So in today's society, nudity will only create chaos because we are fighting for individuality. You cannot out talk or out protest or out campaign communal instincts and beliefs that have taken ages to evolve within us. We are evolving an individualistic society, and for that we have to create greater measures to protect us as we interact with eachother. Promoting nudity will create chaos. If you can handle the consequences of the chaos, have at it.
Part of the chaos is me seeing your nude pic in our common space, such as Facebook or Instagram and commenting "you are very mad for this kind of pic! You are cheap!" If you can deal with the comment fine, if you can't, I ain't sorry.
