Donald Trump's comments concerning Mexican immigrants sparked outrage from many, but just a week to his first presidential debate, hollywood star Salma Hayak has slammed Trump, calling him dumb, uninformed and using imigrants as a political tool.
Appearing on Good Morning America on Aug. 5, Salma didn’t hold back when the issue of Donald Trump’s highly offensive remarks about Mexican immigrants came up.
“Immigrants are an important force of work in the United States,” said the star. “Anybody who is informed knows this.”The actress continued to say that she’s worried people are taking what Donald says as fact, while the politicians continue to use the issue of immigration to “polarize and get votes.”
“I think it is more for hype,” she continued. “That is, Republicans and Democrats have been using these people and this problem as a political tool for votes.”
Prior to the appearance she had a sit down with L.A times where she further aired her grievances over Donald remarks.
“I’m not insulted because I cannot be insulted by stupidity,” she said. “Everybody’s entitled to have uninformed opinions. Everybody’s entitled to be dumb. But I’m not dumb, so I see through the manipulation. We have something to learn from this. That is that the educated people or the people with great human values have to wake up, because they are under the illusion that most of this country is like them and sometimes they don’t even go to vote.”
Well said.
