David Oyelowo To Play The New James Bond, He Says His Father Mispronounces Hollywood Names

British-Nigerian Hollywood actor David Oyelowo, has been announced to play the role of James Bond in a new installment of the the film. hm a black 007, this should be nice. He beat actor Idris Alba to niche the role for himself, despite the fact that Alba has been fans favorite to take on the iconic role.

On a recent taping of American TV show, Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, David said his dad was often mortified at the mispronunciation of their Yoruba surname.

David, however, added that his father was also guilty of mispronouncing names especially of foreign movie stars.

David joked about how his father, Stephen Oyelowo, mispronounces everyone’s names including those of Oprah Winfrey -Opara Winifred; Steven Spielberg – Stephen Speilburger; and Tom Cruise – Tom Crew.
(why am i not suprised? lol)
He also gave an example of how his father would pronounce host, Jimmy Fallon’s name – Jimmy Falling Down.

Oyelowo was recently announced as the next James Bond. He will be the first black man to reprise the role on screen.

However, prior to the movie, he will be featured in the audiobook version of Trigger Mortis written by Anthony Horowitz and commissioned by the Ian Fleming estate.
