Newly wedded couple Kathleen Bertlett 31, and Ryan Pocious 32, from Denver got struck by lightening while hiking on a trail of approximately 12,500 feet.
Kathleen later died of her injuries while Ryan is still in critical condition.
A father and son were also struck by lightening in the same area at the same time but had minor injuries and were able to walk back to safety.
It took rescuers over two hours to find the couple and transportating them to the hospital was delayed due to stormy weather.
