Today is eccentric scientist, Nicola Tesla's birthday. The great scientist was born today 10th July 1856 in Smiljan, Austrian empire (modern day-croatia), at midnight during a fierce lightening storm.

He is known for his eidetic memory as he could picture read an entire book and remember it to accurate details.
He also is the creator of Alternating current and many great predictions and inventions.
He developed the idea of a smart phone in 1901. He also fears germs and kept a very delicate and clean hygiene, and hates pearls, so bad that he refused to talk to women wearing pearls.
No one knows why.
Many people don't know that he had a great sense of humor. For instance after having dinner with writer and poet Rudyard Kipling, he wrote this in correspondence to a close friend
April 1, 1901Lol.
My dear Mrs. Johnson,
What is the matter with inkspiller Kipling? He actually dared to invite me to dine in an obscure hotel where I would be sure to get hair and cockroaches in the soup.

He unfortunately died on 7 January 1943, aged 86 in New York, from coronary thrombosis.
His works and ideas today, still influence our everyday life.
