EFCC Arrest Former Jigawa State Governor And His Two Sons Over Money Laundering

 

The economic and financial crimes commission, EFCC, has arrested the former governor of jigawa state, Sule Lamido and his two sons, Aminu And Mustapha over money laundering charges. They were arrested Tuesday, 7th July.



Punch reveals they were subsequently flown to kano at about 2:30pm yesterday. 
“The former Governor of Jigawa State, Alhaji Sule Lamido, and his two sons, Mustapha and Aminu, were arrested this morning by operatives of the commission,” a source said.
“They were actually arrested very early this morning, they were with us for hours before they were flown to Kano for possible arraignment on Wednesday (today). They left Abuja Airport around 2.30pm. It is most likely that they would be arraigned tomorrow (Wednesday), that I can tell you,” the source added.

 Lamido and his sons are being accused of diverting billions of naira in government funds, into unauthorized accounts for their personal use.
