Fear is so intrinsic in us to such an extent that many people do not even know that they are acting out of fear and not love.
Fear repulses us and love attracts us.
These are some methods people use to overcome fear, some are efficient and some not so much.
1. Facing thier fears: a person with a fear of snakes would usually be taken to see one in a protected environment. Or a person afraid of heights would be taken skydiving by an instructor. Although this seems to work for some people, I become even more terrified after such exposure.
2. Lower expectations: Because of the fear of not getting what they want, many people lower thier expectations of life. They feel that by doing this they have a higher chance of obtaining thier now shriveled desires, than expecting bigger things. Although lowering your expectations makes you feel comfortable, it does not guarantee your achievement. You might fail in every little thing you try but might win in one single big stuff, Abraham lincoln is an example.
3. Belief in a higher power: This was my favorite method until I found something better. A solid belief in a higher power protecting you can alleviate many fears. Praying to that power in times of distress can reduce fears. The only limitation of this method is your idea of what this higher power would like you to engage in. If you believe that your higher power would not be there to protect you in certain things, you would be completely naked with fear.
4. Courage: This is my favorite method. To me, courage means, being prepared to accept anything that comes your way, especially when fighting for a noble cause. You dont limit your expectation of glory or defeat, you just go out there expecting the most triumphant victory or the most gruesome failure.
