A Blogger Has Been Jailed Over Obscene Image Of Margaret Thatcher

A teenage blogger was found guilty on Tuesday of insulting Christians and of distributing an obscene image showing Singapore’s founding father, Lee Kuan Yew, in a compromising position with Margaret Thatcher.

Amos Yee, 16, had faced three years in jail but was instead given probation. He was released on a bail of 10,000 Singapore dollars (£4,800) and probation officers will interview him to determine what kind of probation he will receive and how long it will last. The result will be announced on 2 June.
Asked how he felt about the verdict, Yee said: “I don’t know if I should celebrate my release or mourn my sentence.”
Yee posted the video blog as Singapore was mourning Mr Lee’s death on 23 March.
