PDP IS DREAMING IF THEY THINK THEY WILL WIN LAGOS- APC

APC candidate left, PDP right....

The Lagos chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has declared that it is confident the electorate will return it to government on April 11. The party added that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is day-dreaming if it thinks its candidate, Jimi Agbaje, will defeat their candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode.

According to statement issued by the APC’s spokesman in the state on Sunday, Joe Igbokwe, the PDP cannot come and reap the labour of the APC in the state. “We’re confident that the enlightened and sophisticated voting populace will renew our mandate by endorsing our governorship candidate, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode and our House of Assembly standard bearers at the polls,” Igbokwe said. He added that “the outcome of the presidential election which our candidate, Gen Muhammadu Buhari won convincingly has set the template for continuity and progress in Centre of Excellence.” “PDP will be day-dreaming if it thinks Lagosians will pitch their tent with a party that has been rejected by the generality of Nigerians. “Is it now that our party is controlling the central that our people will vote for a dying PDP? Would Nigerians have rejected the party on March 28 if the PDP had done well in the past 16 years?, the APC asked.
The statement added, “We should not forget that Lagos has been the envy of other states in term of development, good governance and performance since 1999 under the same political platform and despite victimization and lack of cooperation from the Federal Government. “If the APC government in Lagos has been able do this much and take the state to enviable position in 16 years without federal support, then things can only be better now that the APC has won the presidency “There are so many reasons Lagosians should not vote for the PDP in Lagos. It is the PDP that frustrated the Lagos State Government’s plan to build the 4th Mainland Bridge that would have eased traffic on Eko Bridge, Marina Bridge and the 3rd Mainland Bridge. “The PDP has been ferocious in its opposition to the creation of additional local government areas in Lagos which has a population that is as large as that of three West African nations combined. “The PDP will be asking for too much if it expects the votes of Lagosians who reside in those 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) that were created by the APC government to further take development to the grassroots. “Lagosians are no fools and they have always identified with the progressives. We in APC can vouch that our people are enlightened enough not to fall victims for the tricks of the PDP, a party that doesn’t have the interest of the masses at heart.”
